Health Technology Assessment International 2024

This year at Health Technology Assessment International (HTAi) 2024 annual meeting, Dr. Wang Yi, co-direct of MIDAS, joined a panel of global early HTA experts in “Defining Early Health Technology Assessment: A Turning Point for Evaluating the Value of Innovations”.

The HTAi working group represented by Dr. Yi Wang (National University of Singapore and MIDAS), Dr. Janet Bouttell (Nottingham University Hospitals Trust), Dr. Janneke Grutters (Radboundumc University Medical Center), and Dr. Manuel Antonio Espinoza (Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile), discussed the consensus definition of early HTA, derived from over 100 stakeholder representatives from all over the world, and the value of early HTA for different stakeholders and jurisdictions. The panel also shared their perspectives on early HTA in MedTech development, and how we can use this to promote an efficient medical innovation ecosystem.

About HITAP Foundation

The Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program Foundation (HITAP Foundation) was established in 2007 as a research organization. Its main mission is to study both positive and negative impacts arising from the use of technology or health policies and present research results and relevant information to relevant government agencies, such as the Sub-committee on Development of the Essential Drugs List, the National Health Security Office (NHSO), and various agencies under the Ministry of Public Health for use in policy decision-making.

The HITAP Foundation also works internationally, especially in developing countries, with an emphasis on supporting the development of the capacity to conduct self-assessment of health technology.
